Have you been diagnosed with a 'Heart Shaped Uterus?'
It sort of sounds nice - like a cosy place for your baby to grow.
The technical term is actually Bicornuate Uterus and it is a malformation of the Uterus. There can be different degrees of malformation and as the pictures show it really can be Heart Shaped.
So what does this mean for conception and pregnancy?
In most cases the Bicornuate Uterus doesn't affect the ability to conceive however it can for some (a small amount of women) cause recurrent miscarriage or cervical incompetence which may lead to preterm birth.
What can you do?
Read up on the subject and speak to your healthcare specialist.
Keep yourself in the best shape possible - to support pregnancy.
