As part of a Fertility Massage I use the Rebozo. The Rebozo is a long piece of fringed cloth/shawl/scarf a bit like a pashmina which is traditionally worn by women in Mexico - think Frida Kahlo. A Rebozo is part of the Mexican women's heritage and often the woven patterns of the cloth are regional. In Mexico the Rebozo acts as a functional part of a woman's wardrobe, for supporting women as their pregnancy progresses, during labour, closing the bones ceremony (part of a post natal treatment, both physical and spiritual) and carrying small children.
During a Fertility massage the Rebozo is used to rhythmically rock, shimmy and stretch the client releasing physical tension and release emotions allowing the client to breathe more easily and feel very deeply relaxed. The rocking motions gently move the pelvis and lower back, relaxing the muscles and ligaments and allowing space for the womb to settle comfortably. At the end of the massage the Rebozo can be used for 'Closing the bones' which is the wrapping of the head, pelvis and feet - which leaves you with the feeling of being securely held - it is a very pleasant feeling!
